Dad has taken a serious turn for the worse so we called my brother to come and see him in case his decline continued.

Dad, fortunately, bounced back a little which meant ‘Uncle Ben’ could spend some time doing some odd jobs on the boat for Dad and at the caravan.

While he was helping he taught the girls about the reason we use stainless steel screws on the boat, and work surfaces and they helped match bolts with nuts of the same thread learning about left hand and right hand turns.

They already describe my ‘little’ brother as the ‘courageous and brave uncle’ given his profession of firefighter. He has now loved even further up the rankings thanks to his patient explanations and mesmerizing lessons in DIY
