The decline of play for children directly correlates with the increase in mental health disorders, social anxieties and inappropriate adult behavior in later life.
We believe that reducing the amount of time in ‘structures learning’ is having a phenomenal impact on the girls’ social and emotional well-being, their self esteem, their confidence and their general health.
While we (and they) of course miss time socializing with friends, we do make time for the children to play imaginatively, completely self directed and with the smallest amount of adult supervision to keep them safe.
Next step will be to find a community that will allow is to foster this when we put down some roots… wherever that may be!
