Salt dough gifts

Since I hurt my foot, so many people have helped us, in so many ways.

We wanted to find a way to say thank you!

Our challenges were:

  • We can’t leave the campsite
  • We don’t have any money
  • We wanted to involve the kids
  • Everyone who helped us lives in a caravan or motor home so have limited space

So, we decided to make salt dough keepsakes to gift to people.

The girls made little people and little creatures and Fliss and I tried out some medallion style discs to decorate.

The dough was so easy to make,

we needed to whizz your the salt as it was very coarse

  • Half cup flour
  • Quarter cup salt
  • Quarter cup water

We didn’t have any rollers so used empty jars to roll out our dough.

We had some small tools that we had bought for wire bed gin which were great for small scale work.

We have now put the creations in the over on gas mark 3 for 3 hours and will color then when they are out!

Watch this space 🙂

  1. Great ideas……and so thoughtful too. The girls are learning some great social skills as well as craft ideas. Well done everyone. You have some great little people there! Xxxxx
