Freya is an avid reader and a fairly prolific writer, but she finds spelling really tricky.
At just 7 it is not clear whether she has dyslexic tendencies, a processing difference or just finds spelling hard.
Sometimes it is nice for Freya to have different kinds of support for her writing to maintain her positive outlook and ‘can do’ attitude.
One lesson when we were studying Geography we created a mind map together of the key points she wanted to include in her writing about Rio.
Another lesson I wrote for her and she dictated what she wanted to write about Nigeria as her energy level was low. She was so excited to see all her ideas on paper so quickly!
When she is motivated the work she produces is fantastic, her spelling can be great with a little support and her illustrations are second to none!
